Hi,
Well, I have now had 2 illegal operations with team talk, and I wasn't doing anything that warranted an illegal operation. The first time, I was just looking around on the preferences, trying to find out if there was somethings I needed to set, because I'm still getting that failure to initiate sound system. That time, it just said this program had performed an illegal operation and would be shut down. I just shut it down and nothing else happened. The second time, I thought maybe I needed to choose between push to talk, and voice activated, so I entered on thespacebar on the push to talk, and when it said, choose the keys you want to use to talk, I pressed the left control key, because that's the key I'm use to using, held it down, and this time when it performed an illegal operation, my computer froze. Oh well, if this is a great program, I'd hate to run across a bad one.

It probably doesn't work because you don't have a multichannel soundcard. Unfortunatly the programs today are forcing people to upgrade to XP. I believe msn 5 doesn't work anymore for security reasons and Teamtalk is probably the same.
I know what teamtalk is, but i don't have it, don't know where to get it, couldn't make it work in the first place, and I can't help. sorry...
Thanks Alison. Kool turk, I was not using the flextalk synthesizer when that happened. I was using my double talk external synthesizer, which doesn't use the sound card, so it wasn't a sound card issue.
